WEAVE, SURGE’S SUBSIDIARY, PARTNERS WITH 50 LOCAL ISPs TO SUPPORT EXPANSION OF INTERNET ACCESS INFRASTRUCTURE TO 25 MILLION HOMES
Jakarta, September 12, 2024 – PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk – SURGE (WIFI.JK), through its subsidiary PT Integrasi Jaringan Ekosistem (Weave), has signed a cooperation agreement with Internet service providers. This partnership includes the provision of telecommunications services such as Backbone, Core leasing, network capacity, and Colocation Racks provided by Weave in strategic locations, mainly to support internet access infrastructure for the public. Surge (WIFI) continues to focus on expanding its telecommunications infrastructure segment and developing Indonesia’s digital ecosystem.
To date, the Company has operated a 7,000 km optical fiber backbone infrastructure along railway and other routes on the island of Java. Additionally, the company has invested in providing large bandwidth capacity of up to 64,000 Gbps. To support the development of Cloud Computing, the company has also built and operated 58 Edge Data Centers (EDC) located in various cities on the island of Java, with the potential to increase to 592 locations. Currently, the Company’s Edge Data Centers are used by ISPs for colocation and Content Delivery Network (CDN) solutions for Cloud service providers.
As previously known, Pertamina Gas Negara (PGN) has officially partnered with Surge (WIFI) and its subsidiary PT Integrasi Jaringan Ekosistem (Weave) in the Development of Gas Pipeline Networks and the Provision of ICT Services for Household and Commercial Sectors for 2.5 million households. Moreover, the Company has completed the first phase of constructing 200,000 homepasses for local ISPs (Internet Service Providers). The Company is currently finalizing cooperation with operators in building 1 million homepasses for fixed broadband internet connections. The Company has partnered with Nokia as a strategic partner to provide end-to-end network connectivity, aiming to deliver reliable, high-speed, and affordable internet services to 25 million households on the island of Java, which will later expand to other islands in Indonesia.
Currently, PT Integrasi Jaringan Ekosistem has around 200 partners and clients in the telecommunications industry, including NTT Indonesia, Starlink Service Indonesia, My Republic, Lightstorm, Huawei Cloud, Bersama Digital Data Center (BDDC), Trans Hybrid Communication, Pertamina Gas Negara, Indosat Singapore, Lintas Arta, My Republic, Asianet, and others.
